Spenden does not mean to spend, just as Petroleum is not the same as petroleum, just the same as Technik being the same as Technique. These are examples of what we would call “false friends”, word pairings that look alike but have totally different meanings. This page looks at the differences between these false word pairings to ensure that everyone understands how they are used in the context. In addition to that, there are some worksheets and quizzes for you to try out to get acquainted with these false friends and better learn the terms in both English and German. Each worksheet and quiz comes equipped with an answer key.
Useful for the classroom but also wherever you go. Check out this page often as it will be filled up on a regular basis. 🙂
