FLF Friday Nr. 8

Many of us missed out on the full moon that occurred a few days ago, mainly because of the snowy weather we had. And while many of us had some fun in the snow, those who saw the full moon were treated with a beauty. And for photographers like Petra Kuck, it served as an easy penalty kick shot with the camera.

This full-moon shot was taken during the nighttime hours from one of the buildings along Toosbüystrasse. One can see the moon making its descent behind the horizon. The church across the Flensburg Fjord is the St. Jürgen’s Church, the tallest in the city. The rest of the buildings nearby belong to the Captain’s Quarters. What was missing from this photo were the lights on the church. During my time there, the church would be lit throughout the nighttime hours which illuminated along the harbor. That, plus the schools and historic buildings made Flensburg the “City of Lights” from my perspective.

Can you imagine the full moon, the lights AND the snow? There, you would have a lot of action in winter wonderland. In any case, this photograph was a beauty and the landscape it offers is what makes Flensburg a perfect place for an evening walk. Speaking from experience. 🙂 ❤
